Keeping in mind that any person can take control of their destiny, palmistry can be used to determine some consequences or guidance to our future. Accordingly, if a line shows a particular attribute, it is important to look for other indications for confirmation; as one feature can offset another.

As an example, a line that shows success for a person may indicate this as a likely conclusion. However, if other signs are against it, such as the lack of willpower, the attainment of that success may be difficult; (but not impossible). Unestablished career goals often lead to a missing fate line. However, what if you are an adult with a job? This line, in general, indicates the success of a career, whether they are settled or varying and changeable. It is not often absent in adults, but when this happens, it does not mean anything negative. In the course of my career, I have met some people, mostly businesspeople, in whose hands the line was absent. They all were happy to say that they were ‘self-made’ men and that no fate would decide the course of their career.

Which line on the palm shows a long life?

What shows a long life from the palms? The first line a person typically looks at on the palm is the line of life. It is the crease that arcs around the thumb ball, reaching somewhere near the wrist. This line is not always the same for everyone. Sometimes it is short or long and deep. Others might have a broken line, for example.

Does a long life line mean a long life?

Many assume that the life line is where you might see how long you will live. However, the line of life is not an indicator of longevity. What it does reveal is the quality of your life. If you look at the start of the life line, it can also show your character. The length of the line reveals stamina and general constitution. Those with a deep and long life line generally are energetic, hence may be good at sports.

We observe the line’s condition to judge how a person manages their world. Ideally, it is well-defined without deviations or markings. However, that is not likely to occur today due to busy and demanding lives. The line of life also shows physical strength and health during various periods of life.

Checking the life line is essential in obtaining confirmation and timing of events. The markings along it can help in seeing changes. The line can alter, shift or even fade as circumstances change over time. However, because the hands and lines can change over time, it’s impossible to know just by looking at the life line. You might have perfect lines and healthy-looking skin, but if you accidentally step out in front of a bus?

The fate line (career or Saturn line) is more likely to show how long you will live. A fate line that ends directly under the middle finger shows someone active and deeply involved in their career or interests for the whole of their life. Therefore, the fate line might represent a long life where the line stops can be the time of retirement and taking life easy.

What if you do not have a fate line? Or do you have a short fate line?

Remember, these lines can and do change. So, if you do not have a fate line, don’t worry. It simply means you are making your way. Or means you might be undecided as to what to do. It might also mean that you live daily without restrictions; you like your freedom. The line also depicts motivation; therefore, someone who is unmotivated might have a missing fate line.

A faint, weak or short line is hard to see, or it doesn’t seem to be in its complete form. It can suggest a lack of direction in life, but it is common to see young people while they are still searching and deciding on their career or life path. The line shows scattered energy and undecided objectives.

Most weak or short lines are at the onset stage, like a fresh start; if you have this kind of line, you can find ways to improve the quality. Use more focus on your future life goals, career and relationships, and you probably find it strengthens and grows to a better line.

Simian Lines On One or Both Palms?

The Unusual Simian Lines on the Palm

On a small proportion of hands, the heart line, and head line appear to be joined into a single line, forming one long line across the palm, known as Simian lines, or crease. The association of this line was once thought only to be with chromosomal disorders such as Down syndrome. However, it is mostly a regular feature. In some recent studies, it is believed to show forms of neuroticism, hyperactivity and introversion.

I see these lines on the palm as ‘energy’. The head line relates to our mentality, how we think, and how practical we are. The heart line depicts our emotional side and how sentimental we are. So you can imagine if the two types of energy, mental and emotional, are in the same line, there’s going to be some inner tension.

While these attributes may relate to some of the people involved in the survey, they have also found that this line on someone with no physical defects or other behavioural problems, signifies a somewhat different, quite a forceful by nature; not necessarily a negative attribute as it would seem. Many with this line tend towards being determined yet sensitive.

The owner of Simian lines can possess great potential for strong will and focus, many of whom are ambitious. But, the focus won’t last if they are not following their passion. It helps if they have found their niche and had opportunities in their life regarding education and family support. If only on the one hand, there might be a creative nature.

The Simian lines on both palms

The Simian line on both hands can suggest the subject has more of an intense and passionate nature. However, to hypothesise about this crease, look at other features of the hand, such as hand shape, finger length, thumbs, and lines; including fingerprint and palm patterns.

Typically, the owners of a Simian line are stubborn, unpredictable and easily misunderstood by others. They do however tend to possess an abundance of energy, some finding it difficult to relax. While these people are intense, at the same time they can be very empathic and quite sensitive in their way. Usually very open-minded, yet cynical; nonetheless mostly what you see is what you get.

The Double Simian type character tends to follow their heart and in doing so, they tend to choose a career that gratifies that emotion. Mostly, they are either fully into what they do, or fully not into it.  It is nearly always ideal for them to be engaged in their passion. In doing so, it is taking full advantage of the single-minded and determined nature.

If you have a child with Simian lines, you might have already noticed some different character traits. He or she might seem more dynamic and energetic than others. They might also vacillate between being pleasantly charming and helpful to completely ignoring you.

Your child might display some fixated behaviour, which can be directed in positive ways by encouraging their interests. An example of this might be the boy who loves sport, but if he doesn’t get the opportunity to play, he might find something else less desirable to preoccupy his mind.

Some might have already been diagnosed with Asperger’s or ADHD. If that’s the case, your child might show some qualities like being disobedient regarding rules. Your child might display a limited attention span, low self-esteem, or have difficulty at school.

Treatment for hyperactivity can include talk therapy, healthy diet, quality sleep and strict routines. It has been noted that exercise is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce the symptoms of hyperactivity.

MISSING MAJOR AND MINOR LINES ON THE PALM

Most palms have the major lines: a heart line, a head line and a lifeline. (See photo below). I have chosen only these three to be classified as major lines. However, some hand readers also like to refer to Saturn (vertical line to the middle finger) and Apollo lines (vertical line to the ring finger) as major ones. For most practising palmists, missing lines on the palm might confuse them. Not every hand has these major lines exactly. For example, you might have the Simian line, where there is only one horizontal line across the hand instead of two.

Often, when the Simian line is present, other lines, such as minor ones, tend not to show. If your life line is missing on the palm, it shows that your energy runs differently. Maybe you have a Simian line, or one of your other lines is prominent.

Changing lines.

The minor lines subtly change over time; therefore, what is evident in your hands now does not imply a fixed quality or situation. If you are missing lines on the palm, they may just be going through change. The major lines can also change in appearance. Marks and breaks can appear, and sometimes the marks or breaks ‘get healed’.

When using the lines for prediction, the information gathered is from the past events that have led the person to be where they are now. Any lines or markings that represent the future are just an assumption, whether negative or positive. The reason is that our thoughts and desires change, new lines can form, and old ones can fade.

Minor lines.

On some hands, the minor lines are not present, and it depends on the skin’s texture. Tough skin rarely gets any fine lines on it. The lines that are most likely to change quickly are the minor lines. They can even disappear altogether, so don’t worry if you don’t have every line ‘as per the book’.

Something to think about: Imagine the line as a path; if it is in front of you, you will probably walk on it. But if you are in a place with no path, you can still move towards where you want to go; you have to make your own path.

Missing Apollo Line (success line, sun line)

The Apollo line is one of the more common missing lines on the palm. When the Apollo line is missing, it shows dissatisfaction with life or career choices. Success is still possible. However, the person might not be happy with what they have achieved. So, if your Apollo line is missing, look at what you are doing and if it aligns with your passion. The success line can form in your palm when you begin to act on your dreams. Some people believe that the success line forms when a person is happy to be by themself, engrossed in their work, for example.

MISSING HEART LINE

The missing heart line suggests a logical and emotionally detached nature. In all matters, these people are objective, rational and almost ‘mechanical’ regarding their emotions. Relationships might be difficult to sustain unless they can tap into those feelings without overthinking them. On the dominant hand, with strong Jupiter and thumb, they can be aggressive, judgemental and bad-tempered. A good heart line on the non-dominant hand helps offset some cold characteristics.

MISSING HEAD LINE

Some rare hands have no head line, yet a normal heart line exists. This feature suggests that decisions are based on emotional rather than logical views. The missing head line depicts a passionate character with strong opinions. However, they might too easily jump to conclusions because they lack rational thought.

So, when you think about it, the missing lines are just an indicator of a free spirit; they do what they want and create their path without restrictions. There is clear support for scientific research that the hands are connected to the activity of the brain, reflecting the character and well-being of the person. Therefore, the fewer lines there are, the fewer things affect the individual emotionally or mentally through thoughts and actions.
