Thumb Reading to see Willpower and Drive

Thumb Reading to Analyse the Character for willpower and drive

The thumb has a great significance in palmistry; you can glance at a person’s hand and quickly get a general idea of their energy, drive, and basic temperament. So, thumb reading is a crucial part of character awareness, particularly in situations where one is meeting someone for the first time. In most business or personal situations, people shake hands to introduce themselves, so, what a perfect opportunity to glance at the thumb!

As with most features, finding balance in proportion to itself and how it appears to look on the hand is ideal. Nothing too crude and nothing too small. In general, a small thumb belongs to the day-dreamer; one set at the base of the hand belongs to the hands of a worker; an extended thumb indicates the strength of character and intelligence. The thumb is an excellent aspect in which to attain clues confirming other characteristics found on the hands.

When doing a thumb reading, (1) the first phalange (tip of the thumb) is compared with (2) the second phalange. They should be relatively equal in length and thickness.

thumb reading, small thumb, large thumb, palmistry thumb

The tip of the thumb is the amount of willpower, energy and self-control. The second phalange is about logic, thoughtfulness and organising skills.

If either of the phalanges appear to be shorter or thinner, then it suggests weakened qualities of that aspect of the character. Therefore, a small tip shows the willpower needs work. A small or thin second phalange suggests that logic needs improvement.

The Angle of the Thumb

The angle of the thumb measures from the space between the inside of the thumb and the edge of the palm. When the thumb angle is average, it is approximately between 45 and a 70-degree angle to the palm. A low set thumb usually has a wide angle, and a high set thumb has a narrow one.

When the angle of the thumb is narrow, 30 degrees or less and close to the palm rather than opening away from it, it suggests someone much quieter, untrusting or guarded. When the thumb opens to a wide-angle, it is mostly found on the low set one and suggests a more open and giving nature.

narrow angled thumb meaning in palmistry

Thumb Setting

AVERAGE SETTING

A typical location of the thumb is when the inside of the thumb is halfway down the hand, indicating a reasonable amount of generosity, ego, intellect and wariness. These people are practical and giving, being neither a miser nor a pushover.

VERY HIGH SET THUMB

An unusually high-set thumb is when the inside of the thumb is greater than halfway up the palm (rare). It shows a lack of character and intellect, although they can be quite shrewd, and so not very trustworthy. They are less adaptable than those with a medium or low set thumb. The thumb in this position usually has a narrow-angle and so depicts a very cautious, secretive nature. As they are typically very selfish, for them to be in a generous mood, they must have a valid reason or worthy cause.

LOW-SET THUMB

A low-set thumb is when the inside of the thumb is below halfway on the hand, closer to the wrist. It portrays a sensible and open-minded person with a down to earth outlook on life. They may not always be very imaginative, but they are certainly self-confident, determined, independent and very adaptable. They are generous with a love of adventure and often have many interests. The low-set thumb is usually long, depicting appropriate will and reasoning powers. If the thumb is set very low, it can imply weakness of self-control, or a lack of concern regarding intellectual matters, belonging to the extroverts, adventurers, and manual workers.

THUMB READING SUMMARY

The large thumb shows strength, force, realism, and determination; they use their head but may lack sentimentality. The small thumb (if also thin) with its weakness has insufficient force, and the heart guides them; their life is ruled by sentiment. A mentor is a great help for those with a small thumb.

Curved Pinkie Meaning in Palmistry

curved pinkie

In this article, I talk about the relevance of the curved pinkie because of its significance in palmistry. Much like the thumb, it gives away clues to the persons confidence and how they communicate. However, not all pinkies are curved from birth, and some develop the shape during the growing years.

If the pinkie is curved from birth, it relates to the character type. A pinkie that has gradually formed a curve tells us about the history of the person. It’s important to know what the pinkie stands for to understand its curvature.

Even the slightest curve can make a difference. Sometimes it is easier to identify a bend in a finger if you look at the back of the hand. Often the pinkie is only slightly bent towards the ring finger. Even more commonly, it is only curved at the very tip.

bent pinkie meaning

The pinkie gets its qualities from the astrological house of Mercury.

To understand the curved pinkie, it’s important to know what the finger represents in palmistry. The other term for the pinkie is the Mercury finger. In astrology, Mercury has certain qualities which we also use in palmistry.

The Mercurian qualities we see from the pinkie are:

  • Communication and confidence.
  • Diplomacy.
  • Intellectual capacity and thought processes.
  • Mind and Learning ability.
  • The nerves.
  • Honesty, sarcasm, wit.
  • Sexuality.
  • Healing and health.

The Bent or Curved Pinkie Meanings

A curved pinkie, or any finger, in general, demonstrate a moderate amount of variance to the qualities that the finger represents. What that means is that if the finger is different in its weight, size or shape, the qualities follow suit.

Sometimes the finger is naturally held in a way that it leans towards or away from another finger (but is straight); it describes what is current now rather than a long-term matter. So if the pinkie juts out, away from the others, it shows someone independent, or that they are a bit eccentric. The meaning is not the same for the curved pinkie.

If the pinkie was not always bent (from birth).

If the pinkie wasn’t curved from birth and gradually took its shape over the past years, it tells of the person’s history. This history is usually not ideal. There may have been insecurity and nervousness, but mainly family problems, such as an abusive or absent father or mother. During their developing years, they may have experienced anger, arguments, yelling or generally upsetting circumstances at home. In many cases throughout my study, the person with the gradually curved pinkie had a separated family.

The characteristics that come with a curved pinkie

The pinkie (Mercury) finger tells how we communicate, so when it gently curves towards the Apollo finger, it is gaining strength from it. It indicates a higher level of shrewdness, alertness, and tact. These people often have an awareness of others and a natural ability to communicate diplomatically.

These people also make persuasive salespeople, probably due to their charm and ability to convince people to their side. This persuasiveness can sometimes mean bending the truth. However, I would not go so far as to suggest the person is a liar, but they certainly have such skill in diplomacy that if they did lie, they could do it quite well.

If someone was born with the curved pinkie, the characteristics above are more pronounced.

When the finger leans backwards, it shows a lack of interest in things such as learning and study. Curling inward is a sign of a need to hang to things, like ideas, attitudes. However, it can also be one of the signs of issues such as alcoholism.

A curved pinkie together with a short middle finger

With a short middle (Saturn) finger, decision making is not their best trait, so there may be a tendency not to take responsibility. Sometimes it signifies the pilferer, and they will take something (steal it) if an opportunity arises.

More meanings about the curved pinkie

  • With only a slightly curved tip on an adult, can indicate difficulties in feelings of sexual (satisfaction) or intimacy that come from past experiences. If all three phalanges appear to kink in opposite directions, like an s shape, it is recognised as mild (or pockets) of autism.
  • A sharp kink at the tip and a curve of this finger can imply some history of emotional abuse or trauma. For instance, when there has been a separation between the parents and the child suffered loss or sadness.
  • If the pinkie bends or leans away from Apollo finger, it reveals a hint of eccentricity. Another meaning is one who does not like to follow trends. They are assertive and independent.
  • If the finger naturally held away from Apollo, they could have some current issues or worry about emotional or sexual matters.

More meanings about the pinkie size and shape

THE LONG PINKIE

A long pinkie shows someone who can easily express themselves. These people’s ability to communicate is one of their best attributes. They often have a good vocabulary, and they are social, influential and very organised. It also means that they are naturally good with money and do well in business and politics, science, education, television, or radio broadcasting. Writing, entertaining, and music often come naturally. Any subject that requires being able to convey their knowledge or express themselves using words.

THE SHORT PINKIE MEANING IN PALMISTRY

The small pinkie suggests the opposite qualities of a long one. These people tend to be shy and find it difficult to express what they want to say. It might be something like regularly becoming tongue-tied, and then only to realise after the fact what things they could have said. However, shyness does not affect their ego, and they often have a high opinion of themselves. Getting easily embarrassed can be their downfall, so speaking eloquently in public does not come naturally to them. Usually, they avoid these types of situations altogether.

THE THICK PINKIE MEANING

A thick pinkie is rare. However, if it appears thicker compared to a regular one, or just abnormally large, it shows someone who may be rather talkative with a keen interest in business or money. These people are perfectionists and potentially very shrewd. It may also be a sign of a workaholic.

THE THIN PINKIE MEANING

The pinkie is typically slightly smaller, but if there is abnormal thinness, it suggests repression of the mental or emotional growth of the individual. Often, this manifests as learning disabilities, mental disorders, compulsive behaviour, phobias, and extreme shyness. In some cases, there is a history of feelings of guilt, anger, shame and unworthiness. With these qualities, often the thumb is also short and thin.

With a combination of a small, slim pinkie and thumb, it is a sure mark of a lack of tenacity. These traits may have come from trauma, mistreatment, or neglect at a young age. In the worst-case scenario, unwanted sexual advances or molestation.

Ring of Solomon Meaning on the Palm

ring of solomon

What is palmistry and what is it used for?

Palmistry is an analysis of the hands, palm lines, ridges and fingerprints. Sometimes, the lines form in unusual ways, like the ring of Solomon. It is not a mark used for prediction, and these days, contemporary palmistry steers away from the predictive side of reading hands.

The art in Western culture is mainly used to depict character, career and health. Other cultures do things a little differently. Palm readers in the East tend to forecast things like accidents and disasters, and some even tell people when how long they will live. However, it is not possible to know those kinds of things through the hands and readers should avoid even attempting to look for them.

The Ring of Solomon

In palmistry, a fine curved line under the ring finger is called the ring of Solomon. The lines that encircle below the fingers are relatively rare, except the ring of Solomon. It often appears in sections as a partial ring or several faint lines. One clear deep line will have a higher significance and is more uncommon.

In my observations, I regard these lines as a ‘block’ in the flow of energy from the finger. Many people believe this ring is a gift marking, but it depends on the individual. It is meant to symbolise knowledge and wisdom. When I think of the ring of Solomon, I think of perseverance and sound reasoning. However, it can suppress the ego and prevent the flow of self influences. The lack of these self-importance traits, in a way, free up the possibility of genuine spiritual development.

The index finger (Jupiter finger) represents our self-esteem, authority, power, ego and leadership. It makes sense that the ring beneath the finger is impeding some of those qualities. Therefore, the person has a selfless and caring attitude with less focus on their own needs, which allows insight into the nature of others. They have a gift for understanding people and are very intuitive if other factors on the hand agree. (See other factors from the article about the sympathy lines.) Be careful though, the sympathy and trauma lines can often be mistaken as the Solomon ring.

More about the ring of Solomon

The individuals who have the ring of Solomon have a natural aptitude for analysing everything. The line in many examples is doubled or has the teachers square or sympathy lines beneath it. It is a mark on conscious people who handle others well, such as managers and psychologists. The downside sometimes is that the subject might not follow their dreams or fulfil their life purpose, instead, helping others to do so.

A complete one is rare but denotes precise analytical and judgment ability. The excellent observation of the heart of things, the insight into others’ minds, and the luck of getting help from others. In dangerous situations, an owner of a ring of Solomon has a way of getting out of the problematic position. Also, they tend to have good luck with the opposite sex and in finding a beautiful partner due to their unique insight.

William Benham states that the ring of Solomon is an indication of love for occult studies, and of an ability to obtain proficiency in them if other signs are present. On its own, it is not a sign of skill in the realm of the occult thoughts, but just an indication that it is a possible direction to take.

If you do not have the ring of Solomon (but wish you did), you can wear a ring on the index finger instead. But be careful, a ring with a stone will enhance the qualities of Jupiter. It will help with your ability to take charge or get lucky. 🙂

If you have a partial ring of Solomon

Sympathy lines are like an incomplete ring of Solomon. There is usually one or two lines that originate from the side of the Jupiter mount. They show a compassionate and understanding nature. If the line (or lines) reach all the way to beneath the middle finger (Saturn), they depict stress, trauma or great responsibilities at a young age.

Ring of Apollo

The ring of Apollo sits under the ring finger. It is a mark that restricts the normal flow of the positive qualities that Apollo has. It is said to indicate one who has a negative view of life and affects the creative ability or social life. The person might be at risk of their reputation or success in their endeavours. The best backup for a ring of Apollo is a good head line that doesn’t reach down to the Mount of Moon and also a well-developed Jupiter mount.

Stress Lines and Trauma Lines on the Palms

stress lines, palmistry lines

Stress Lines on the Palms

Stress lines and trauma lines are very similar and can appear in many areas of the palm. The other names for these lines are interference or worry lines. They are not always a negative marking and are often suggest regular domestic worry or family influences (primarily early responsibility or difficulty).

When the lines originate from the mount of Venus and cross the line of life, their meaning becomes more significant. The various stress implications of a worry line crossing the life line can vary. They can be things like life events such as having a child, struggling with finances or emotional issues. All of these things might affect the career or another part of life.

If a worry line is long, originating from inside the mount of Venus, crossing the life line and reaching the head line, it can denote worry over finances. The same markings on the heart line would indicate an emotional matter. A line reaching the fate line can imply career influence, financial concern or both. If there is an island on the fate line and the worry line crosses the island, it can suggest bankruptcy.

trauma lines on the palm

A hand covered in many lines

A hand full of lines shows an emotional person who often worries about too many things. Most of these extra lines are stress lines. The subject might have their energy all over the place and their mind doesn’t ever really switch off. The habit of fretting and absorbing other people’s energies is common. I always recommend meditation or other relaxing activities.

Trauma LInes and stress lines

If these worry lines rise from the beginning section of the life line, all the way to the Saturn finger (middle finger) it would suggest a childhood disturbance or trauma. Trauma lines almost always end beneath the Saturn finger; they depict events that had a profound effect on the psyche. The trauma line is almost always fragmented, blurry or faint in its appearance. If this is the case, it may not be a permanent mark.

When I mention this trauma line to someone, many deny ever having anything happen that caused it. However, it is not always something that a person remembers because they might have had the issue during the developing years—such as weaning from the mother, abandonment issues or any other psychological distress as an infant.

Sympathy Lines look like stress lines

Mistaking the sympathy line for a trauma line or ring of Solomon is easy to do. The trauma line reaches the base of the Saturn finger. The sympathy line looks more like a partial ring of Solomon. It shows a compassionate and understanding nature.

The fingernails can also show signs of stress

When looking for clues to stress or the health from the nails, we apply the same principles as for the hands, which is to find something unusual. We also look at the quality. A delicate textured hand should have matching smooth looking nails. If the nails are coarse on a smooth hand, the healthy balance is out of proportion. The coarse nail is usually short dry and dense, more commonly seen on a big hand with rough skin.

A nail usually takes six months to grow from the root to the tip, so some markings can be timed based on where it is on the nail. As an example, a horizontal ridge halfway along the nail would suggest a change or loss of vitality around three months ago. A typical healthy nail is pliable; it has a smooth texture; an average thickness and the colour of the nail is typically light pink. The moons should be milky white, and usually only visible on the thumb.

BLUE/PURPLE NAILS

A bluish tinge within the nail bed can be due to circulatory or respiratory problems. Please note, sometimes this is temporary due to cold weather or cold hands. Also, it is normal for a woman to have bluish nails during the early teens and again at menopause when there are changes in the body hormones. A faint blue tinge covering the nail shows nervousness and possibly some heart weakness. If there is a deep blue colour under the tiny and narrow nails, (most pronounced at the base), heart weakness is almost inevitable.

WHITE NAILS

A white-looking nail bed can suggest iron deficiency, low vitality or more severe liver dysfunction. A pale, white or greyish tinge under the nails can indicate selfish leanings or lack of warmth. Depending on the quality of the nail, if it appears to be lifting off the quick, clouded, brittle and dry, it could indicate a fungal disease.

YELLOW /BROWN

Yellow colour in the nail beds or a brownish discolouration, splotches or stains in the skin directly under the nail, can indicate jaundice, liver or gallbladder conditions. These marks can also occur when there is a high level of bilirubin in the blood due to the body producing too much or not getting rid of it fast enough.

When the nail itself is white and clouded on the top section and yellow at its base, it can signify kidney disease. Other conditions can also cause yellowing, such as fungal infection or regular contact with heavy-duty chemicals on the nails.

RED NAILS CAN POINT TO STRESS

The redness of the nailbed mainly points to someone with intense passion or extra strength. Very red nails can be due to high blood pressure, bad temper or cardiovascular disease. Look at the colour of the palms to see if they too are red. If so, the subject may be doing everything in excess, mentally or physically stressed.

WHITE SPOTS OR LINES

White flecks or spots can show a vulnerable nervous system or a weak constitution. They are usually the first sign of delicate nerves and can appear during times of stress or when the body lacks a mineral such as calcium, zinc or magnesium. White lines across the nail can indicate acute fever or coronary disease.

BLACK/RED LINES

Several long, thin black specks or lines underneath the nail, is associated with a bacterial infection of the heart valves. If the line or speck is very close to the tip, it may be just a splinter or injury. Red lines or specks can be due to long-term high blood pressure, or if at the tip, also injury.

Fate Line Timing Events Scale in Palmistry

If you are interested in palmistry, you would also want to know how to estimate the timing on the lines. Fate line timing events: The timing on any line is never an exact science; this is mainly the case for the fate line, which registers our advancement through life. Each mark, break or divergence can potentially match an event in our life. Fate line timing is to possibly spot an impending change of career or another life event.

The fate line is the middle vertical crease on the palm. Some people call it a career line or line of Saturn. It is an excellent indicator of change in the life of its bearer. A perfect and straight fate line that runs directly from the palm’s base to below the middle finger can denote an unchanging and steady career, drive or direction in life. The person knows who they are; they are self-motivated and in control of their path in life from an early age.

Estimating the timeline on the fate line

What I find to be the easiest way to get a close estimate is to use the different lines to compare. If the heart and head lines form in a typical manner, such as in the palm photo below, then the age of approximately thirty-five is where the line crosses the head line. The age of fifty is when it crosses the heart line.

Where it crosses the heart line is usually the age of fifty. Not all palms have the lines in the same position, but this timing works if you imagine where the head and heart lines usually are. If there are breaks in the fate line, you can use this timescale to see approximately what age change is and what age the progress continues.

Age fifty on the fate line

How to know if fate line timing is accurate?

The best way to make the fate line timing more accurate is to compare past life events on the line. For instance, if there is an island on it (indicating a period of financial trouble). Ask the subject what age they were at the time of that event, and then it can be judged from that point.

If the hand does not have the typical lines, for instance, displaced higher or lower than average, or there is a Simian line, then I adjust the timing from the age of thirty, being the centre of the palm. The spacing tends to get narrower towards the later period.

Where the fate line starts

If the fate line starts from the life line, it shows a traditional start to a career. That means the career started from the individual’s background, education or personal merit. It represents a competent person determined to apply their energy and talent to succeed. If the fate line starts at the wrist at the centre of the hand, it shows first responsibilities and a balanced personality.

The fate line beginning at the base of the palm is a sign of common sense and independence using own efforts, which can manifest in the choices in life (and possibly the career). A fate line starting at the Mount of Moon shows people (or the public) based professions of their choosing. They succeed due to their appealing and essential qualities, which can be in the public eye. Often found in entertainers and actors.

What if you have two fate lines?

Depending on how tight they run to each other, a double fate line can refer to two similar occupations, hobbies or study alongside a career at the same time. If the lines are close, it can depict a successful business partnership and may even represent a husband or wife who is considered very supportive.

What if you don’t have a fate line?

Having no fate line does not mean the person has ‘no career’ or is unmotivated. Instead, it is more likely that they prefer to take life as it comes, not bound by any demands, responsibility or purpose. If you imagine the fate line as a path to follow, and there is no path, you are free to make one of your own. If you need to get to the other side of the forest and there’s no trail, you can still get through by finding or making that track.

As an example, a man who is a self-employed salesperson with goals and motivation to run his own business might not necessarily have a fate line. The probable reason for this may be because his skin may be coarse. He plans his days one day at a time and has no strict boundaries for his career.

Another example comes from a woman whom I know. This lady did not finish her schooling, leaving at sixteen to earn a living. She did not have any significant plans or ambitions to be successful but only wanted independence. She had no fate line, yet she was a regular and steady worker. However, she may have one now, as these lines can form when situations change.

The common aspect I noted about both people is that they have no interest in worldly achievements or obligations. They accept whatever comes along yet take responsibility for their role in life seriously. Someone not having a fate line explains quite a bit about the meaning. It shows how difficult it is to analyse on its own.

If you are reading for someone else

Remember, if you are doing a reading, use care and tact, and never alarm a potentially nervous or sensitive subject. It is not our job as hand analysts to humiliate or discourage anyone. If you fail to verify something, you might not have judged the whole hand correctly.

The lines do change over time

Remember, the lines can change over time. Therefore, what is evident in your hands now, does not imply a fixed quality or event. When using the lines for prediction, gather information from past trials that have led the person to be where they are now. Any lines or markings that represent the future are just assumptions. They show what is potential for the subject based on past actions. I hope you enjoy reading all my articles. Check out some of the latest ones below.

MISSING FATE LINE

The fate line is the vertical line on the palm which rises towards the middle finger. It is also known as the career line or Saturn line. In palmistry, it is usually referred to when analysing the hand for life changes, including the career. If you have a missing fate line, what does it mean? Don’t worry, I will explain in this article.

A perfect and straight fate line that runs directly from the base of the palm to below the middle finger is rare. However, it can denote a decided career or direction in life. The person with this type knows who they are; they are self-motivated and in control of their chosen path in life from an early age.

career line on the palm

Having no fate line does not mean the person has ‘no career’ or that they are completely unmotivated, but instead, it is more likely that they prefer to take life as it comes, not bound by any demands, responsibility (or purpose).

As an example, a man who is a self-employed salesperson with goals and motivation to run his own business might not necessarily have a fate line. The probable reason for this may be because his skin is coarse (tough, thick). He plans his days one day at a time and has no strict boundaries for his career.

Another example comes from a woman whom I know. She did not finish her schooling, leaving at the age of sixteen to earn herself a living. On top of that, she did not have any significant plans or ambitions to be successful, but only wanted independence. There was no fate line on her palm, yet she was a regular and steady worker. It is possible, however, that she has one now, as these lines can form when situations change.

You can still succeed without a fate line.

The common aspect that I noted about subjects with no fate line is that they have no interest in ‘worldly’ achievements or obligations. They accept whatever comes along, yet still, take responsibility for their role in life seriously. Someone not having a fate line explains quite a bit about the line and just how difficult it is to analyse on its own. The person can still succeed, but they do it without the boundaries of having ‘fate’ decide so to speak.

Usually, when someone does have a full and straight line, the person has set himself life goals with purpose but with conventional boundaries which can limit the diversity as far as occupation is concerned. It does not by any means show a perfect career.

FATE LINE PRESENT BUT NO CAREER

The fate line does not only represent a career; it shows a person knows what they want in life. An instance of this comes from a man, who at the age of sixty, had a strong fate line rising to the mount of Jupiter, which usually means a highly-determined nature. However, he had been unemployed for the past thirty years, with his only income coming from a government payment. I told him that it shows on his palm that he is successful in his chosen path, and he was surprised because he had not intended on returning to work anytime soon.

We both quickly realised that his line meant that he was on a steady path, no matter what it was. He did know what he wanted from life, which was to continue doing what he does. It made him feel comfortable and happy. That is probably why the fate line was so smooth, even though it had nothing to do with his career. He was ambitious, but not in a typical way. He had chosen his path and didn’t intend to divert from it.

Index Finger Meaning in Palmistry

The index finger, also commonly called the Jupiter finger, can vary in its meaning, depending on whether it is short, long, thin, thick, straight or bent. This digit represents the ego, pride, confidence, security, ambitions, self-image and leadership. It also relates to religious beliefs. The length of it also makes a difference in its significance.

For example, an extended index finger shows a highly ambitious and charismatic personality. These types are proud and easily take on a leading role. A short one, if thick, can have the same meaning. The qualities weaken If it is thin, short or bent.

curved jupiter finger, bent index finger

What does it mean when you have a bent index finger?

A bent index finger is when the finger itself has a curve in the bone. If the finger is just leaning towards the thumb or middle finger, the meaning is different. Simply leaning towards the middle finger shows a shy or introverted nature. Leaning towards the thumb is the opposite, an extroverted and outgoing personality.

An index finger that bends towards the middle finger tells us that something from the individuals past has changed or affected their normal behaviour or attitude. It may be a person who was a shy child or someone who struggled with communication or independence. They may have had to depend on others, especially family.

It can also denote some form of insecurity, possibly due to a history of unfortunate economic times. If the uncertainty or worry is still current in their life, this finger will tend to cling to the middle finger. However, frequently these people grow up to become very self-assertive and determined achievers. They often persistently work towards their goals (and have a dutiful outlook on life). Especially if combined with a strong thumb and a loop of seriousness.

The types of curvatures

When the whole index finger curves towards the middle finger (Saturn), it shows that in relationships, they are prone to be emotionally secretive or feel unstable; exposing a possessive or jealous nature. At the same time, the subject is likely to cling to the security of their partner or their family, especially financially.

When only the very tip is bent, the mental faculties are restrained or reserved, potentially affecting the self-image. The subject might have gone through some change in their life which affected their focus or ideas.

When the index finger leans away from Saturn, towards the thumb, it displays a very extroverted and ambitious nature; these people also like to be in the centre of attention.

With the middle and the index finger naturally held wide apart, the qualities of motivation, self-confidence and individuality are celebrated. They are independent, unrestrained and not bound by the views of others.

If all the fingers appear bent

When all the fingers bend inwards naturally, (not due to arthritis or other), it shows a timid or insecure nature. It can also denote a selfish and shrewd character. The reason for that is that the bend inwards brings all the fingers together, suggesting a lack of openness or willingness. They may have a distortion of reality in their life, which can, in some people, lead to corruption or unlawfulness, especially if the middle finger is short.
