About the Heart Line
The heart line is the uppermost horizontal line on the palm; it represents how a person expresses their feelings and their attitudes towards relationships. The basics of reading this line are the same as the head and life lines; that is by looking at its length, depth, and quality. The deepness of the line displays the depth of feeling. So, a curved line indicates emotion while a straight heart line shows control.
Most heart lines are not flawless and regularly exhibit branches and markings. I imagine if there were a perfect one, it would show that the emotional experiences of the person’s life would not affect them much, possibly having an insensitive and unsympathetic nature. Where the heart line sits on the palm can add to the meaning of this line. (Read more below).
The straight heart line
A straight line shows an emotionally controlled person. It is a mark of someone who is more cautious and may hide their feelings. If it is very straight, they may seek perfection in a relationship. The lack of curve in the line, however, indicates also the lack of warmth. They are cautious and reserved about expressing their feelings. The straight line does not necessarily seek close relationships, hence reveals coldness or selfishness.
When the line sits high (closer to the base of the fingers) it suggests the person is open-minded, but experiences regarding the emotions can be somewhat unrealistic. This type may require constant support from his/her partner.
A heart line which sits closer to the head line, suggests an introspective personality showing caution about love but with the aid of reason and a realistic (but sometimes intolerant) approach to relationships. The emotions may lie more buried under the surface.
Short and straight heart line
A short straight heart line, ending under or before the middle finger, shows a relatively self-centred approach to love, a lack of emotion and empathy towards others or they may tend to suppress their feelings by keeping their emotions under control. With their fondness for freedom, they do not appreciate clinginess and might not know what love is? If there are branch lines drooping downward from the line, it shows disappointments in love. Rising branch lines show happy times.
