About the Heart Line
The heart line is usually the uppermost horizontal line on the palm; it represents how a person expresses their feelings and their attitudes towards relationships. Sometimes there is another line above it, like the girdle of Venus or an extended union line. In this article, I will explain the straight heart line, branches on the line as well as the short heart line.
The way of reading this line is the same as any line on the palm; that is by looking at its length, depth, and quality. The deepness of the line displays the depth of feeling. The shape of the line tells us about the nature of the emotions. For example, a curved line indicates emotion and expression, while a straight heart line shows control and less expression.
What if the line has branches?
Most heart lines are not flawless and regularly exhibit branches and markings. I imagine if there were a perfect line without branches, it would show that the emotional experiences of the person’s life would not affect them much. It can mean that they are somewhat insensitive or unsympathetic.
The branches that seem to droop down from the line can represent disappointments in love. However, if there are many branch lines, it often depicts a negative attitude in general. If one of these reaches all the way down to touch the head line, it suggests the emotions seek logical answers. Rising branch lines can represent positive times for emotions, or influence such as a person or an idea.
The straight heart line
A straight line shows an emotionally controlled person. It is a mark of someone who is more cautious and may hide their feelings. If it is very straight, they may seek perfection in a relationship. However, the lack of curve in the line also indicates the lack of warmth. They are cautious and reserved about expressing their feelings. The straight line does not necessarily seek close relationships, hence revealing coldness or selfishness.
When the line sits high (closer to the base of the fingers) it suggests the person is open-minded, but experiences regarding emotions can be somewhat unrealistic. This type may require constant support from his/her partner.
A heart line that sits closer to the head line indicates an introspective personality showing caution about love but with the aid of reason and a realistic (but sometimes intolerant) approach to relationships. The emotions may lie more buried under the surface.
Short and straight heart line
A short straight heart line, ending under or before the middle finger, shows a relatively self-centred approach to love, a lack of emotion and empathy towards others or they may tend to suppress their feelings by keeping their emotions under control. With their fondness for freedom, they do not appreciate clinginess and might not know what love is? If there are branch lines drooping downward from the line, it shows disappointment in love. Rising branch lines show happy times.
