The Index Finger Power in Hand Analysis

The Index Finger is a Powerful Indicator of Your Character

The index finger, which is also referred to as the Jupiter finger in palmistry, is as valuable for hand analysis as it is for the dexterity of the hand. When we think about palmistry, we usually only think about the lines on the palm. However, there is much more to know from the rest of the hand. In this article, I will give you the basic meanings of the length and thickness of the index finger.

IF YOU HAVE A SHORT INDEX FINGER

A short index finger is when it does not reach halfway along the top phalange of the middle finger (Saturn). Sometimes, a low-set index (Jupiter) can make the finger appear short, even if it is not. However, the meaning is very similar because of the underdeveloped region.

short pinkie, index finger

This underdeveloped index finger can represent someone who cares about the needs of others but may struggle to attend to their own needs or find their purpose in life. It may come from a lack of confidence in their ability or an absence of direction in the early years. Others can easily persuade them due to their kindness or failure to make decisions.

Someone with a short index finger may be perceived as an outsider, perhaps even a hermit. They might enjoy being alone, or they do not need to be at the centre of attention (for instance, the person who does not have a Facebook profile).

In one case, a man with a short index finger was rejected by his peers during his younger years. Still, he did not feel he belonged to any group. Sometimes, it could be their home location (such as living on a farm or a boat), or they may have felt distant due to their different personalities.

LONG (OR THICK) INDEX FINGER

It is long if it reaches approximately three-quarters of the top section of the middle finger (unless the middle finger is short). A long index finger shows a highly ambitious, charismatic, proud, ethical and often religious personality. These individuals are social, have high self-esteem and a strong ego, and possess natural leadership skills, especially when they have an extended thumb. Although they may appear shy, they enjoy being at the centre of attention and are likely to become independent early, especially if the head and life lines are separate. Every so often, this independence may occur due to having a mother figure who was either pathetic or needy at a young age.

• They tend to be stubborn and want things done their way.
• The extended index finger depicts a motivated person with solid philosophical views.
• They are authoritarian (or influential).
• Making money is of interest to them.

A thick and firm Jupiter finger belongs to someone who does not like to follow orders. But they like to give them. They possess high leadership and organisational abilities (unless it is on a soft and flabby hand).
If this finger is long and thick, it suggests someone determined and ambitious, but possibly with a controlling nature. Jupiter’s qualities are enhanced. The base phalange of the index finger is thick when there is a love of food/eating.

THIN FINGER

It is rare to see a tiny and thin one. However, if it is present, it represents poor self-esteem and self-image, as well as a lack of ambition. This type of person is uncomfortable telling others what to do or organising them.
