What is Palmistry and how does it Work?
Palm reading had also been modernised and is appearing in various sites of the internet for propagation and information. Some psychic websites offer palm readings online and even other supernatural methods like tarot card reading, numerology and others.
Palmistry is the practice of palm reading for a meaningful understanding of personal life and events. It is grounded in the psychic belief that our palms have lines and curves that determine patterns on the different spheres of human life. These areas include love, career, emotional expressiveness and even success in career. People have become interested in knowing the possible outcome of their situations and decisions, and they have started to turn to palm reading for guidance. Although palmistry began even before the ancient times, it is still widely practised all around the globe. It has been practised in India, China, and Tibet and even in ancient Babylonia. Its modern appeal has also been appearing online at a time when technological modernity leads more opportunities both for practising palm readers and clients and psychic enthusiasts alike who needs special guidance.
Palmistry involves palm reading the psychic line, and palm readers believe that these lines and curves can tell, predict and assume the future circumstances of different people. The West had revived modern palmistry especially during the 1800s, which gained popularity from both the people and persecution of the Catholic Church as it was deemed a pagan practice. Today, people had been turning to palmistry to expand their knowledge about the things that involve their personal lives and overall decision-making. Palm readers had also been keen into considering the contemporary dynamics of life in contrast to ancient palm reading practice.
Palm reading had also been modernised and is appearing in various sites of the internet for propagation and information. Some psychic websites offer palm reading online and even other psychic methods like tarot card reading, numerology, and others.
There are many techniques involving palm reading, and these include the analysis of the shapes of the hands, the understanding of the relations of lines and curves of the palm and others. These are the two primary techniques employed by many palm readers all throughout the world.
In this type of method, it is usually believed that hand shapes are divided into four major types which correspond to classical elements. While there is a significant belief on what these elements do, hand shapes are also believed to be indicators of various character types that exhibit different attitudes towards life events and circumstances. The four classical elements used by modern palm readers are Earth, Air, Water, and Fire.
Earth are typically identified by large, square palms and fingers that have thick and rough skin and reddish in colour.
Air hands are also square and can also be rectangular in shape with lengthy fingers, pointed knuckles and often dry skin.
Water hands are oval in shape with long fingers that are sometimes flexible.
Fire hands are also square and rectangular but with shorter fingers.
Some traditions believed that Earth and Water hands have less deep lines while Air and Fire are more characterised by more lines. These are all essential knowledge to the practice of shape analysis.
Lines are the distinct curves that provide the palm readers with hints to analyse the subject’s capability, attitude and way of handling life situations. These lines are carefully studied in palmistry to correctly arrive at a specialised psychic knowledge to know things about the present and future circumstances. People are characterised by different lines that embody various symbols to everyday interaction, and this is the central idea of the practice of palmistry. The lines are often divided into two: the major lines which include the life line, head line and the heart line and the minor lines which comprise of lines like the fate line, girdle of Venus, Apollo line, and Mercury Line. Each of these lines determines particular tendencies surrounding human life which includes love, career, and emotions.
The Major Lines
The Life Line is often associated with vitality and vigour, and it is the line traces from the edge of the palm above the thumb which arcs towards the wrist. This line is also believed to represent the overall well being of a person which includes the changes that happen all throughout one’s life, events that imprison deep feelings within and even physical aches of the individual’s body.
The Heart Line obviously represents love, attraction, and emotional expressiveness. These are qualities we often associate with our romantic relationships and intimacy towards other people. The heart line is the one which is located on the top of the palm and under the fingers. On a more physical level, the heart line may also indicate the heart health and how emotions affect the person’s bodies.
The Head Line is from the edge of the palm that traces towards the outside edge of the palm across. This line is associated with the person’s mind and how thought processes affect the individual’s way of communicating and expressing himself or herself towards others.
The Minor Lines
The Sun Line is across the fate line located under the ring finger. It is believed to be indicators of fame, career, and scandals.
The Girdle of Venus can be found directly above the heart line and which symbolically thought to suggest matters of knowledge, wit, and survival.
The Mercury Line is the stretch of line from the base of the hand that points toward the Venus line. This line is commonly associated with physical problems like health.
Some other lines include Union lines that are believed to indicate kinship relations and family ties of the person, the travel lines which as the name suggests is central to trips and journeys in life that one has experienced or is to experience in the future. This line is also associated with the assessment of self-fulfillment, ambitions and inner peace. Other markings that are equally of help in determining traits are the crosses, triangles, various shapes and other intersecting lines within the whole stretch of the palm. These are the little details of the palm that also tells much about the person’s lives which of course depends on its location, the matter with which it intersects with other lines and more importantly, its visibility on the hand.
