Main Lines in Palmistry (Major Lines)
Most palms will have a heart line, a head line, and the life line, so I have chosen only these three to be classified as major lines. Some palmists like to refer to the Saturn line and Apollo lines as the main lines in palmistry. However I do not see these on every hand, or they are only partially visible, so I regard them as minor lines.
There is a vast difference in the way lines are formed on the palms of individuals, and it is the uniqueness of these lines that makes this topic so interesting. Some personalities will have a palm which is covered in many lines and others will only exhibit the major lines. The texture of the skin and the development of the muscles can help determine how many lines will form. Therefore, someone who works with their hands, especially heavy work (such as a labourer), will have fewer lines than those who do not, so these are not only clues to the personality but also to the physical constitution.
If a line shows markings, it is essential to look at other signs for confirmation, because one feature can offset another. As an example, a line which shows success for a person may indicate this as a likely outcome, but if other signs are against this, such as stress and lack of willpower, the attainment of that success will be difficult. Finding adverse signs should not be negative, however, but instead an incentive for making positive changes for better future outcomes.
Main Lines in Palmistry Can Change Over Time
THE LINES RESPOND TO YOUR BRAIN ACTIVITY
The main lines in palmistry are what people tend to look at first when examining the palms. They are usually the longest and deepest. These lines can and do change over time. What is evident in your hands now, does not imply a predetermined outcome of the future. It shows a possibility based on past events. As our thoughts and desires change, new lines can be formed, and old ones can fade. The lines which are most likely to change are the minor lines. When these lines appear fuzzy, and there is dry skin in places, it can show long-term stress. But this faded or fuzzy line can also be the start of new lines forming, so it takes careful consideration of the individuals’ life circumstances. When you make positive changes in your life, it can modify the way your lines appear.
When I first studied my own hands, I was disappointed that I didn’t have a strong career line (fate line). It made sense though, because whilst I was in a job, it wasn’t my ideal type of career. (See quiz for career here). Many years later as my choices changed, so did this line, especially on the left hand. The left hand shows more about what is going on in the mind (if you are right-handed). On my right hand, the line wasn’t as clear yet, mostly because the ideas and motivations in my mind had not fully manifested in my life at that point.
